The wave wanders in colour: the foam escapes the frame, the engraved spiral extends the movement into the bare wood.

Here, the wandering indulges in colour: the mauve of the sky meets the turquoise of the water, and the painted wave overflows its rectangle to run in engraved scrolls on the light pine. The edge of the panel, painted blue, extends the work into its very thickness.

To wander is not to be lost: it is to let thought follow its own curves. Between painting and engraving, the raw and the refined, the work embraces its digressions as so many freedoms.
